According to the analysis conducted by the Uzbekkosmos agency, 38 cases of illegal burning of rice crop residues have been identified in our country, damaging 500.3 hectares of land. This is mainly in the Syrdarya region (30 cases, 421.9 hectares) and Tashkent region (8 cases, 78.4 hectares). At first glance, this may seem like a method of "cleaning up" the land, but in fact it causes very serious environmental problems.

In particular, during the burning of rice, a large amount of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and harmful substances are released into the atmosphere. This causes air pollution and accelerates climate change processes. This situation increases the risk of respiratory diseases, especially for nearby residents. In addition, microorganisms in the upper layer of the burned soil die. This reduces the yield of the next season, leads to a decrease in natural humus and the extinction of the biological activity of the soil.

It should be noted that attempts to quickly and cheaply burn fields cleared from rice harvests will result in fines of up to 10 times the base amount under Part 3 of Article 88 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In case of significant damage, this may even lead to criminal liability.

We remind you that the Uzbekcosmos Agency is monitoring these situations daily using satellite images. Be careful and avoid causing any damage to agricultural lands, which are one of the most valuable resources of our country. All processes are under control.

We ask local authorities and authorities to be more active in combating and preventing such situations.
If our compatriots witness such negative situations, they can call the 1207 hotline of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.
