Uzbekistan has handed over the chairmanship of the CIS Interstate Space Council to Belarus!

On September 24–25, 2025, in Minsk, Belarus, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the 6th meeting of the Interstate Space Council of the CIS Member States.
The meeting was also attended by heads and representatives of relevant agencies and organizations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.
The delegation of Uzbekistan, which held the 2024–2025 presidency of the Interstate Space Council, presented a report on the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting and described the activities of the Uzbekcosmos agency aimed at developing the national space industry.
Following the meeting, decisions were made on 21 agenda items aimed at developing cooperation among CIS member states, coordinating their joint space activities, and implementing joint projects. The next chairmanship of the Interstate Space Council of the CIS Member States was transferred to the Republic of Belarus.
In addition, member countries of the Interstate Space Council expressed strong support for the candidacy of the city of Samarkand to host the International Astronautical Congress in 2028.
