The Agency of "Uzbekcosmos"

In order to further increase interest in space technologies, astronautics and engineering among young people, and to support their ideas, initiatives and inventions in this regard, the Uzcosmos Agency, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Sehriyo School, held the final stage of the CanSat Uzbekistan-2025 competition at the Yangi Hayot open-air flight aerodrome located in the Orta Chirchik district of the Tashkent region.

This project, organized at the initiative of the Uzcosmos Agency, is one of the interactive methods of training personnel in the STEM education field, and is of great importance in further developing the scientific and creative abilities of young people, attracting them to the aerospace industry, and thereby training a new generation of space engineers.

It should be noted that the final stage of the "CanSat Uzbekistan-2025" competition was attended by teams from the "Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi", "Tashkent State Transport" University, "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers", "Yangi Uzbekistan" University, "Mirzo Ulugbek National University", "Sehriyo" and "Al-Beruniy School" schools.

At the end of the competition, the teams of Tashkent State Transport University and Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan took 3rd place among higher education institutions. 2nd place went to students of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi. 1st place went to "Yangi Uzbekistan" University. 2nd place among similar schools was awarded to the "Al-Beruniy" school, and 1st place to the "Sehriyo" school.

“CanSat” is a mini-satellite the size of a small can. This project was first organized in the USA in 1990 in cooperation with NASA and American universities, aimed at improving the skills of young people to participate in space missions. Today, “CanSat” launch competitions are regularly held in many countries, including Russia, China, England, France, the USA, Japan, India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and millions of boys and girls. At the initiative of the Uzcosmos Agency, Uzbekistan has also joined these countries.
