The Uzcosmos Agency, which has been using advanced space technologies for the development of various sectors of the economy of our country, has been operating for several years in the unique “State Space Monitoring” system through the remote sensing program of the Earth. According to it, high-resolution data is provided to the networks by processing space images taken from satellites in the areas of agriculture, water management, land relations (Cadastre), forestry, ecology and geology. In this regard, representatives of the agency regularly hold meetings and presentations with various khokimiyats and departments of the Republic.
In particular, at the next meeting held in the Jizzakh regional khokimiyat, the issue of introducing modern technologies, including space monitoring tools, into the agricultural sector of the region was discussed. The meeting was attended by Zafar Roziyev, Deputy Governor of the region for Agriculture and Water Management, Ulugbek Rakhimov, Head of the Department of the Agency for Space Research and Technologies under the Ministry of Digital Technologies, as well as leaders and specialists of the Center for Space Monitoring and Geoinformation Technologies.
The discussions considered proposals in the following areas:
- Opportunities for remote monitoring of the condition of agricultural lands, assessing their fertility, and accurately monitoring arable land;
- Mechanisms for generating and analyzing data in real time through the “Open Portal” platform and taking prompt action on identified problems;
- Opportunities for using satellite imagery to identify illegally and arbitrarily occupied land.
As noted, these technologies will allow for rational use of resources in the agricultural sector, increase productivity, and create transparent mechanisms for land control and management.
It should be noted that these works are being carried out within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 14, 2024 “On measures for the introduction of aerospace technologies in economic sectors in 2024-2026”.
Following the meeting, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Jizzakh regional administration and the Uzcosmos agency to organize the effective use of land resources in the region based on space monitoring
