Uzbekistan to hold “World Space Week”!
On the initiative of the “Uzbekcosmos” agency, “World Space Week” events will be held in our country from October 4 to 10 of this year. In accordance with the resolution signed by the UN General Assembly in 1999, about 100 countries of the world widely celebrate this date in the first 10 days of October every year.
The “Uzbekcosmos” agency is also implementing many major projects within the framework of “World Space Week”. In particular, a special exhibition dedicated to the history of space will open in the “Tashkent City Mall” shopping and entertainment center from October 4 to 10. In addition, the “Sky Park” in the complex will host various interactive shows, games, competitions and quizzes for children.
At the same time, on October 5-6, the large-scale “NASA Space Apps Challenge 2024” hackathon, organized in cooperation with the “Uzbekkosmos” agency and “NASA”, will be held at the “Turin Polytechnic University” in Tashkent. More than 200 young people will develop their projects, divided into about 40 teams.
It is also planned to hold open lessons, talks, presentations and a number of other projects dedicated to the theme of “World Space Week” in secondary schools, academic lyceums and universities throughout the Republic.
