The Agency of "Uzbekcosmos"

On September 9–10, the inaugural International Space Summit took place at the Grand Palais in Paris, held at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. The event brought together representatives from 90 countries and international organizations, nearly 60 high-ranking government officials, over 1,000 space companies, and 19 renowned astronauts from 14 nations.

Representatives from the "Uzbekkosmos" agency also participated in the summit, engaging in various meetings and negotiations. Discussions focused on sharing best practices, identifying new avenues for cooperation, and deliberating on promising projects within the space sector.

High-level participants included Rwandan President Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso, Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commission Executive Vice-Presidents Henna Virkkunen and Stéphane Séjourné, as well as the European Union Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrius Kubilius. On the first day of the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, and other high-ranking officials delivered speeches addressing the development of the space sector, international cooperation, space security, and Europe's strategic priorities in space. The first day also featured a roundtable discussion with astronauts, in which Emmanuel Macron participated.

On the second day of the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen delivered speeches as part of the official program. Additionally, a live communication session with the International Space Station—featuring French astronaut Sophie Adenot—was held, and a presentation by the European Space Agency was showcased.

Roundtable discussions were held on topics such as "A New Space Frontier for a Rapidly Changing World," "Space Security: Europe's Response," and "Visions for Future Space Infrastructure." Furthermore, a dedicated roundtable on "African Leaders' Vision for Space" was organized, featuring the participation of Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

Parallel panel discussions were also held throughout the summit, covering the areas of the "Global Space Economy," "Security and Cooperation," and "Science and Research." Notably, a panel discussion titled "Transforming Historic Organizations in a Changing Space Environment" was held, featuring the participation of Josef Aschbacher, Director General of the European Space Agency.

Furthermore, the summit is attended by 19 prominent astronauts from 14 countries, including Thomas Pesquet (France), Samantha Cristoforetti and Luca Parmitano (Italy), Alexander Gerst and Matthias Maurer (Germany), Sultan Al-Neyadi (United Arab Emirates), Alper Gezeravcı (Türkiye), and others.

The summit serves as a vital international platform for strengthening international cooperation in the space sector, enhancing Europe's competitiveness and strategic autonomy in space, developing new technologies, and formulating shared approaches to the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space.
