Every nation, setting itself the goal of building a strong state and a stable society, must first of all form its state symbols and strengthen them with law. Because state symbols are sacred symbols that express the identity of the nation and have become a source of pride and honor for the people.
Uzbekistan also adopted its state symbols in the first years of independence - the state emblem, anthem and flag. Among them, the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan occupies a special place. The State Flag was adopted on November 18, 1991, and it embodies the historical heritage, worldview and noble aspirations of our people.
Each color and symbol on the flag has a deep meaning:
• Blue is a symbol of the eternal sky and the source of life.
• White is a symbol of sacred peace, purity and innocence.
• Green is a symbol of the renewal of nature, youth, hope and joy.
• Red stripes are an expression of the vital force and the spirit of awakening that flows in the body of our people.
• The crescent moon is associated with the ancient traditions of our people and is also interpreted as a symbol of independence.
• 12 stars are noble symbols associated with the science of astrology, historical chronicles and national thinking that developed in the ancient states bordering Uzbekistan.
The national flag is a symbol that unites our people towards a common goal and calls for respect for the peace and independence of the country. Therefore, the idea of “One Motherland, One People, One Flag” further strengthens the spirit of unity of our people.
On the occasion of the adoption of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a number of educational events were held at the Uzbekcosmos Agency and its subsidiary, the Center for Space Monitoring and Geoinformation Technologies LLC. A roundtable discussion dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the State Flag was held with the participation of employees of the organization on the topic “One Motherland, One Nation, One Flag!” During the event, opinions were expressed about the historical significance of the flag, the meaning embodied in each of its colors and symbols, as well as the need to treat state symbols with respect.
