At the ceremony, Kokand mayor Marufjon Usmonov warmly congratulated everyone and read out the President’s congratulatory message to the people on the Day of Remembrance and Honor, as well as on the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory in World War II.
Tribute was paid to the memory of heroes who gave their lives for the Motherland, and wreaths were laid at the Memorial Square.
In his conversation with the military and veterans, the mayor spoke about peace and stability in society, and the atmosphere of friendship and harmony among nations and religious communities. “National unity and solidarity are our priceless wealth, the firm foundation of all our achievements and victories,” he emphasized during the dialogue with community representatives.
