The mayor of Kokand, together with responsible officials, discussed the renovation of the palace gates and the paving of the square in front of the palace in an ancient style, as well as the use of construction materials — whether produced locally in the city or brought from other regions of the country.
During the meeting with architects and construction specialists, broader issues were also addressed: restoring the city’s historical sites to their authentic form, establishing tourism hubs, and paying attention to matters of architecture, construction, and design.
“Our historical landmarks must be designed in such a way that they attract both local and foreign tourists, with proper consideration of the surrounding tourism infrastructure,” emphasized the mayor of Kokand.
