The meeting was held with ADB representatives to discuss the country's economic development and investment attraction

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Bobur Khodjaev, as well as Director of the Public Debt Department Zarifjon Olimjonov. On the ADB side, the Senior Private Sector Development Officer of the Representative Office, Adham Kuchkarov, was present.

At the initial stage of the meeting, the Minister of Economy and Finance expressed gratitude to ADB for its active support in the development of various sectors of the economy and discussed ongoing co-operation in investment projects. He also emphasised the importance of ADB's technical assistance to support reforms in Uzbekistan.

The discussion touched upon the prospects of cooperation in public-private partnership, development of financial markets, microfinance sector, as well as support for the energy sector and transition to a "green" economy, taking into account the ADB's Partnership Strategy with Uzbekistan for 2024-2028, which is being developed.

At the same time, the meeting paid special attention to the development of road transport infrastructure and water resources management.

Both sides expressed readiness for productive cooperation and confirmed the importance and prospects of partnership between Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank in the implementation of strategic goals of economic development and investment attraction.
