International forum is being held in Samarkand

The purpose of the forum was to strengthen the institution of the family, strengthen the participation of women in public life and public administration, expand their rights and opportunities, further develop cooperation between the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and exchange experience.
The conference was attended by about 40 foreign guests from more than 20 countries of the world - the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization for the Development of Women of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, representatives of the United Nations in Uzbekistan and officials of the structures of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and issues of family and women of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Cooperation - discussed issues of family and women. Heads of government bodies, representatives of civil society institutions and international organizations participated.
At the opening ceremony of the forum, a video message from Tanzila Norboeva, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Republican Commission on Gender Equality and Family Issues, was heard for the first time.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Sarvarkhan Buzrukhanov also gave a lecture, who spoke about “the best practices for creating additional conditions for the education of women and girls and their widespread involvement in the field of science.”
In the speech of the Deputy Minister, systematic work is being carried out aimed at comprehensive support for our women; in the system of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, 1 million people are studying in higher educational institutions. Of the 200 thousand students, 598 thousand (49.8%) are women, which is 12% more than in 2017, and the number of female students continuing their master’s studies is 13,995, the total number of students is 59.5 percent. It was emphasized that the system has created all the conditions for the education of female students.
