During the visit, the delegation met with a number of government officials, heads of international organisations, and business circles.
A comprehensive meeting was held with Sugiono, the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, aimed at accelerating relations between the two countries, strengthening ties, prioritising economic diplomacy, and bringing the two nations closer. Both countries expressed confidence that there are great opportunities for success ahead. The foreign ministers also signed the Agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and service passport holders.
During the productive meetings, prospects of close cooperation were also discussed with the Minister of Trade of Indonesia, Budi Santoso, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anindya Bakrie, the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, and other heads of the country’s leading companies.
The importance of broadening and deepening cooperation between Central Asia and ASEAN was underlined during the meeting with Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN. New areas of cooperation in regional development, strengthening bilateral ties among nations in our regions, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in areas such as trade, security, and sustainable growth were discussed.
The Uzbek-Indonesian Business Forum was attended by over 200 representatives from leading companies, government agencies, and financial institutions, and underscored the growing interest in deepening trade, investment, and business ties. The forum provided a valuable networking platform, enabling companies to establish direct contacts, negotiate potential agreements, and explore mutually beneficial projects. The forum highlighted the commitment of Uzbekistan and Indonesia to creating a more interconnected business environment.
