Industry plays a very important role in the economy and employment.
According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-August 2025, enterprises of the republic produced industrial products worth over 660 trillion soums. This indicator has increased by more than 6% compared to the same period last year.
As of September 1, 2025, about 17 thousand enterprises with foreign investments were operating in the republic.
In January-August 2025, the country's foreign trade turnover exceeded $51 billion. USA and increased by more than 19% compared to the same period in 2024.
In the volume of foreign trade of Uzbekistan:
Export - 23 billion (+31.3%)
Imports - 28.4 billion (+11.8%)
Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 200 countries.
The largest share of Uzbekistan's foreign trade was accounted for by China (over 18%), Russia (about 16%), Kazakhstan (about 6%), Turkey (about 4%), and the Republic of Korea (over 2%).
On April 21, 2025, the Presidential Decree "On the Privatization Program for 2025" was adopted.
