    The XXVI session of the Intergovernmental Council on Exploration, Use and Protection of the Subsoil of the CIS countries was held

    On September 21-22, 2023, the XXVI session of the Intergovernmental Council for Exploration, Use and Protection of the Subsoil of the CIS Countries was held in Samarkand.

    The session was attended by delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Belarus. At the event, the Head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of Tajikistan, Oymukhammadzoda Ilkhomjon Sultan, as Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council, made a report on the work done over the past period and the results achieved.

    After that, it was announced that the chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Council was transferred to the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    During the session, the proposals of experts on a number of issues were considered, such as training and advanced training of personnel in the field of geology, the search for new unconventional types of minerals and their development, the introduction of modern technologies, the results of exploration and scientific research and other aspects were discussed.

    In addition, within the framework of the XXVI meeting on exploration, use and protection of the subsoil of the CIS countries, a number of cooperation agreements were signed, the chairmanship of the XXVII session passed to the Kyrgyz Republic. At the end of the event, the members of the Intergovernmental Council signed the protocol.
