Cooperation Between Fergana Region and SeoulTech to Contribute to Regional Development

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with University President Kim Dong-Hwan. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further developing cooperation between Fergana Region and SeoulTech, expanding ties in education and scientific research, and effectively implementing joint educational programs.

President Kim Dong-Hwan noted that cooperation in education would contribute to the development of both sides and expressed confidence that the ties established with Fergana Region in this area would yield significant results in the future.

He also noted that his visit to Fergana Region in June of this year had left a strong and positive impression on him.

The meeting also included a presentation on SeoulTech’s educational and research activities. In particular, it was noted that the university is one of the Republic of Korea’s reputable higher education institutions in the fields of exact sciences, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and information technology.

Modern laboratories have been established in cooperation with major companies, with particular emphasis placed on integrating students’ theoretical knowledge with practical training. Such partnerships were noted to strengthen students’ professional skills and contribute to their future employment.

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized the importance of taking cooperation with the prestigious university to a new level, expanding exchanges of students and academic staff, introducing joint educational programs, and jointly implementing research and innovation projects.

Particular attention was paid to applying SeoulTech’s expertise in advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and IT more broadly across higher education institutions in Fergana Region and creating new opportunities for young people to acquire advanced knowledge and practical skills.

SeoulTech is one of the Republic of Korea’s public universities specializing in engineering, information technology, and technology-oriented education. With a 115-year history, the university currently has nearly 14,000 students, including more than 2,000 international students. Among them are 29 students from Uzbekistan.

Cooperation has already been established between Fergana Region and SeoulTech. In particular, an agreement on friendship and cooperation has been signed between the Fergana Regional Administration and SeoulTech. In addition, Fergana State Technical University and SeoulTech have a memorandum on the implementation of joint educational programs.

At the meeting, the parties agreed to give greater practical substance to cooperation under the existing agreements, expand exchanges of students and academic staff, implement joint projects in modern engineering, IT, and technology, and intensify cooperation in artificial intelligence, information technology, and other promising areas.
