As part of its visit to the Russian Federation, the Uzbek delegation held a series of important meetings in the Voronezh Region. Negotiations were held with the regional governor, A. Gusev, and the regional leadership, as well as with representatives of the Russian nuclear industry. The parties discussed the experience of developing comprehensive cooperation between government agencies and nuclear industry enterprises.
Visit to the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant
That same day, the delegation continued its work at the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant, where they held talks with A. Shutikov, Director General of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, and V. Povarov, Plant Director. The participants were given a detailed overview of the operation of modern Generation III+ power units, advanced safety systems, and key production processes.
A Satellite Town – An Example of Harmonious Development
The delegation paid special attention to the satellite town of the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant, a cozy and modern settlement that has become a shining example of how nuclear energy can harmoniously combine with a high quality of life. The town was founded in 1957, concurrent with the first power unit of the plant. Located just 4.5 km from the nuclear power plant, it covers 4,600 hectares and is home to over 30,000 people. A comprehensive social infrastructure has been established here: modern schools, a polytechnic institute, cultural centers, sports facilities, and well-maintained public spaces. This approach ensures comfortable conditions for nuclear industry specialists and their families and is an important factor in the sustainable development of nuclear energy.
Working Meeting at Rosatom
Following the visit to the Voronezh Region, the delegation's leadership held a working meeting in Moscow with Aleksey Petrov, First Deputy Director General of Rosatom State Corporation and President of JSC Atomstroyexport. The parties discussed the current status and plans for the implementation of the nuclear power plant project in Uzbekistan, and agreed to hold monthly operational staff meetings directly at the construction site.
