The main purpose of the initiative was to promote a healthy lifestyle among veterans and military pensioners, increase their physical activity, strengthen their health, and provide meaningful opportunities for spending their leisure time. Particular attention was also paid to strengthening friendly ties among veterans from different regions, fostering an atmosphere of unity and mutual understanding, and passing their rich life experience on to the younger generation.
During the competitions, participants tested their strength and skills in tug-of-war, table tennis, and chess. The tug-of-war contests, which required teamwork and solidarity, were particularly intense, while the table tennis and chess competitions highlighted participants’ quick reactions, precision, and strategic thinking.
The exciting sporting events provided participants with an opportunity not only to demonstrate their abilities but also to further strengthen the friendships they had built over the years. The competitions were marked by a cheerful atmosphere, mutual respect, and friendly rivalry.
As part of the event, veterans also took part in warm conversations and discussions, sharing memories of their years of military service, their life experience, as well as their views and advice concerning the younger generation. Such meetings play an important role in strengthening intergenerational ties and making the rich experience of veterans a valuable source of guidance and inspiration for young people.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners and prize-winners who demonstrated strong results and active participation were honored in a ceremony. They were presented with diplomas and commemorative gifts in recognition of their interest in sports and commitment to an active lifestyle.
