During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the high-level organization and implementation in military units and institutions of activities stipulated by the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 7, 2026, “On Measures to Organize the Republican Book Reading Competition in the System of the Armed Forces,” as well as relevant orders and regulations adopted jointly with ministries and agencies.
The main objective of the methodological training session was to promote reading culture within the Armed Forces and increase the interest of personnel in reading books, in line with the tasks outlined at the expanded meeting of the Security Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme commander-in-chief of the Armed forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on January 13, 2026.
According to the aforementioned resolution, representatives of four categories are eligible to participate in the republican book reading competition “Shield of Spirituality”: students of the “Temurbeklar maktabi” and “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” military academic lyceums, conscript servicemen, cadets, as well as sergeants and officers. Particular attention was also paid to the issue of providing worthy incentives to the winners of the “Shield of Spirituality” book reading competition.
As a positive example, it was noted that the Command of the Central military district has created a “Shield of spirituality” platform, where the recommended literature has been uploaded. This provides military personnel with convenient access to the recommended books.
