A New military cooperation agreement signed

The long-standing military and strategic relations between the two states were further strengthened by new agreements signed in Ankara.
The Minister of National Defense of Türkiye, Yashar Güler, officially received the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, lieutenant general Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, at the building of the Ministry of National Defense. During meetings held in a narrow format and at the delegation level, issues of regional security and cooperation in the defense industry were discussed.
Following the talks, important documents aimed at developing military capabilities and enhancing coordination between the two states were signed.
After the official ceremony, the Minister of National Defense of Türkiye, Yashar Güler, emphasized that defense relations with Uzbekistan are reaching the level of a strategic partnership. In turn, lieutenant general Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, confirming the words of his counterpart, noted that Türkiye’s experience in the defense industry and military training plays an important role in the modernization of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the comprehensive strengthening of the country’s military potential.
In particular, the military cooperation implementation plan for 2026 provides for joint exercises of military units, exchange of experience and advanced training of personnel, as well as stages of technical cooperation. Agreements in the field of military medicine include advanced training for military doctors of both countries, studying the management of military hospitals and military medical technologies, exchanging experience, and conducting various training programs.
