Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkey
About the Embassy
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey were established on the basis of the Treaty “On the Foundations and Principles of Relations,” signed on 19 December 1991 in Ankara. At the same time, the Republic of Turkey was among the first countries to officially recognize the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, laying a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations.
The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Turkey was opened in 1992 and has since played a key role in strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The legal framework of its activities is defined by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Real Estate and Financial Matters, signed in 1995.
The Embassy carries out comprehensive diplomatic activities covering political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and consular-legal areas. Special attention is given to strengthening strategic partnership, developing political dialogue, expanding inter-parliamentary and inter-agency cooperation, and deepening collaboration within international and regional organizations.
A significant focus is placed on the development of trade and economic relations, attracting investment, and expanding cooperation in industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and tourism. Cooperation in education, science, and innovation is also actively developing, including partnerships between higher education institutions and youth organizations.
Work with citizens is another important direction, including labor migration issues, protection of the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens in Turkey, and the provision of consular services. The Consular Section is located in the same building as the Embassy and provides a wide range of services, including document processing, notarial services, and legal consultations.
The Embassy regularly organizes political-diplomatic and cultural-educational events such as briefings, seminars, round tables, and conferences aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples. Working visits are also carried out to major business, tourism, and cultural centers across Turkey.
The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan is located at: 549 Street, No. 3, Sancak District, Çankaya, Ankara.
In cooperation with Turkish partners, construction of a new Embassy building is underway in the prestigious Oran district of Ankara. The new diplomatic complex combines elements of national architecture with modern high-tech design solutions, reflecting Uzbekistan’s dynamic development and strengthening international standing.
