On January 16, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ahmad Farooq.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation and prospects of Uzbek-Pakistani relations in the Afghan direction.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of ensuring regional security, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan.

Additionally, the parties talked about ongoing transport and communication projects in Afghanistan, in particular, the construction of the Trans-Afghan railway.
