On January 8, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Uzbekistan Thamer Fathi Abdussalam Hammad.

During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as the efforts of Uzbekistan and Egypt to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction in bilateral and multilateral formats.

The parties shared the opinion on the need to support international efforts aimed at the socio-economic development of Afghanistan.

The Ambassador highly appreciated Tashkent's efforts to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan and to establish long-term peace and stability in the country.
