Interregional Cooperation and Protection of the Interests of Uzbek Citizens Discussed in Rostov Region

As part of a working visit to the Rostov Region, a meeting was held with Governor of the Rostov Region Y.B. Slyusar. The meeting addressed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, industrial cooperation, as well as further strengthening direct ties with the regions of Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to labor mobility and improving mechanisms for processing the necessary permits for citizens of Uzbekistan. An agreement was reached to hold a separate working meeting with the participation of the leadership of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Rostov Region to address issues related to simplifying procedures for obtaining work permits (patents).
The preparation of a visit by a delegation of the Rostov Region to Uzbekistan in March 2027 was also discussed. The Russian side expressed interest in including representatives of a number of industrial enterprises from the region in the delegation to establish direct business contacts and explore joint projects.
During a meeting with A.I. Kharkovsky, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Rostov Region, issues related to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Uzbek citizens were discussed in detail. An agreement was reached to conduct joint visits to enterprises and facilities where Uzbek citizens work, with the participation of a designated representative of the Commissioner’s Office.
A meeting was also held with Uzbek citizens at SSK AVAKON LLC, where around 100 citizens of Uzbekistan are employed. Particular attention was paid to consular and legal protection, ensuring their legitimate rights and interests, as well as compliance with migration and labor legislation. The citizens were provided with the necessary explanations and practical recommendations.
Following the meetings, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue practical cooperation aimed at developing interregional ties, improving organized labor mobility, and ensuring the consistent protection of the rights and interests of citizens of Uzbekistan.
