Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On August 28, 2026, a working meeting was held in Moscow between a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation A.V. Kikot, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation P.P. Gorodov, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Olimjon Abdullaev, Director of the Migration Agency B. Musaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation B. Asadov, Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Moscow M. Khayriddinov, and Adviser to the Ambassador B. Nazarov.

The meeting focused on issues related to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens residing in the Russian Federation, including timely notification of the Uzbek side about cases involving the detention of citizens, ensuring respect for their rights during migration-related measures, as well as prompt coordination on emerging issues.

Particular attention was paid to issues related to the Register of Controlled Persons, as well as opportunities to regularize the legal status of certain vulnerable categories of citizens.

The parties also discussed the organized employment of Uzbek citizens in the Russian Federation, their professional and
pre-departure training, as well as ways to improve migration procedures.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue substantive cooperation to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens and further develop cooperation in the migration sector.
