Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On August 3–4, 2026, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov paid a visit to New Delhi, Republic of India.

During the visit, the delegation headed by the Foreign Minister was received by Droupadi Murmu, President of the Republic of India.

At the outset of the meeting, the warm greetings and best wishes from Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, were conveyed. The sides exchanged views on further enhancing political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as on current regional and international issues and prospects for cooperation within international organizations. The foreign ministries of the two countries reaffirmed their readiness to continue working closely together to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and India.

The Foreign Minister also held restricted-format talks, followed by delegation-level negotiations, with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India. The discussions focused on further developing the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and India, implementing the agreements reached at the highest level, preparations for upcoming high-level engagements, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, strengthening transport and logistics connectivity, and current regional and international issues.

The Uzbekistan–India Business Forum held in New Delhi served as an important platform for expanding practical cooperation between the business communities of the two countries. The Forum featured discussions on cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, transport and logistics, healthcare, and agriculture. The event was co-organized by the relevant ministries of Uzbekistan and India, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Invest India, and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in New Delhi.

In addition, the Foreign Minister met with Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha of the Parliament of the Republic of India. The meeting focused on the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and India, deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue, enhancing the activities of friendship groups, and promoting the exchange of experience in the field of lawmaking.

As part of the visit, the Foreign Minister also met with Ambassador Sergio Gor, Special Representative of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia. The sides exchanged views on further developing the Uzbekistan–United States strategic partnership, enhancing dialogue at the highest and high levels, cooperation within the C5+1 format, preparations for upcoming joint events, and current regional and international issues.
