Uzbekistan Delegation Participates in the EU–Central Asia High-Level Dialogue on Politics and Security

On July 15–16, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Madrakhimov, participated in the 13th High-Level Dialogue on Politics and Security between the European Union and the Central Asian countries, held in Brussels.
During the dialogue, participants discussed the outcomes of the first European Union–Central Asia Summit, held in Samarkand, as well as ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two regions, maintain a consistent political dialogue, and expand practical cooperation.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Uzbek delegation held separate meetings with Anton Bura, Chief Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of the European Council; Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS); and Veronique Petit, Director-General for Policy, Security and Defence at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meetings focused on further deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union, advancing projects under the Global Gateway initiative, and expanding cooperation in the areas of transport, investment, trade and economic development.
The European side highly commended Uzbekistan’s active role in strengthening regional cooperation and promoting integration processes in Central Asia, reaffirming its commitment to the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
