On Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Singapore

On April 29, 2026, the fourth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Singapore was held in Tashkent.
The delegations were led by Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov and Kevin Cheok.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the current state of political and diplomatic cooperation and its development prospects. Particular attention was paid to intensifying cooperation in the trade and investment sphere, expanding educational and cultural-humanitarian ties, as well as deepening dialogue within international organizations.
It was noted with satisfaction that contacts at various levels have become more active, mutual trade is being diversified, and joint investment projects in the food and chemical industries, as well as in agriculture, are being successfully implemented.
Agreements were reached on intensifying exchanges in the field of education and personnel training, as well as on expanding tourist flows.
Kevin Cheok emphasized that Singapore’s political and business circles are closely following the scale of reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, which contribute to the growth of the national economy and the strengthening of the country’s international standing.
The participants discussed ways to utilize untapped potential for cooperation and identified new promising areas of interaction, including plans for upcoming visits at high and highest levels.
At the conclusion of the talks, views were exchanged on the most pressing issues on the regional and international agenda.
