Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On April 18–19, within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov paid a visit to Antalya, Republic of Türkiye.

The visit programme included participation in plenary and panel sessions of the forum, holding a number of bilateral meetings, and exchanging views with international partners on pressing regional and global issues. The visit contributed to strengthening mutually beneficial relations on the international stage and identifying new areas of cooperation.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi. Discussions focused on injecting new momentum into bilateral relations, expanding economic cooperation, developing tourism, and reviewing joint events.

During the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys, issues of intensifying political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing business relations, cooperation in the transport sector, and investment forums were discussed.

At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, issues of bilateral relations and expansion of trade and economic cooperation were considered.

In Antalya, an informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States was held, where cooperation in transport, energy, green transformation, digitalization, and innovation, as well as cooperation within the “OTS Plus” format, was discussed.

At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, issues of developing strategic partnership and allied relations, trade, transport and logistics, energy, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were reviewed.

Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Khalilur Rahman, issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation and strengthening ties on regional and multilateral platforms were discussed.

At the meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, issues of friendship, good-neighbourliness, and strategic partnership, trade turnover, and interregional cooperation were considered.

Rwanda became the 167th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations. Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda Olivier Nduhungirehe, a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations and a Memorandum on establishing a mechanism for political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries were signed. These documents marked an important step in expanding cooperation with African countries.

A number of bilateral and multilateral meetings were also held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where issues of economic cooperation, investments, transport and logistics, green development, and digital transformation were discussed.
