Within the framework of implementing Presidential Decree No. 367 of October 17, 2024 “On additional measures to regulate labor activities abroad,” Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to regulating labor migration of Uzbekistan citizens to Russia. They exchanged views on the resumption of the “pilot project,” including transferring migration procedures, medical examinations, and Russian language tests to branches of Russian universities in Tashkent and Jizzakh, launching training centers on the language, history, and legislation of the Russian Federation, and involving Russian instructors and vocational masters in professional education in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was paid to preventing any cases of violation of the rights of Uzbekistan citizens — both law-abiding and those found in violation — during migration raids.
The parties agreed to hold regular meetings of the established working group to promptly address issues related to the regulation of migration flows.
