Reports have circulated on social media that a shipment of pistachios exported from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan was returned. We hereby inform you that an investigation was carried out regarding this incident, which established the following facts.
A batch of 3.5 tons of pistachios from the Andijan region was prepared for export to the Kyrgyz Republic. Although the products were dispatched to Kyrgyzstan in accordance with established procedures, they were detained in the neighboring country and returned due to non-compliance with marking requirements.
At the “Dustlik” plant quarantine checkpoint in Andijan region, unmarked bags were separated, and the products were fully marked. After fulfilling all export requirements and obtaining the phytosanitary certificate, the shipment was re-exported to the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the repeated export, thanks to full marking, the products successfully passed customs and phytosanitary clearance in the Kyrgyz Republic and were released for sale.
The Agency of Plant Protection and Protection reminds exporters of the importance of strictly complying with marking requirements set by international standards and stipulated in bilateral agreements. These requirements are essential to avoid delays in the phytosanitary and customs clearance of goods, to ensure competitiveness in the international market, and to strengthen confidence in product quality.
