The Uzbek side was headed by Deputy Minister of MIIT Ilzat Kasimov. The event also brought together representatives of relevant ministries, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IT Park, and other organizations. The Japanese delegation was led by Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Terada Yoshimichi. It also included Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Hirata Kenji and representatives of leading companies such as Hankyu, Shimizu, Nikken Sekkei, Itochu, Marubeni, Sojitz, and others.
In 2025, bilateral trade approached $400 million, while the number of enterprises with Japanese capital increased nearly tenfold over the past 8 years, reaching about 130 companies.
The forum discussed prospects for joint projects in intelligent transport systems, modernization of utilities infrastructure, digital monitoring of urban environments, development of public transport, and sustainable urban planning.
