This project is planned for the years 2025–2027, and within its framework, a national strategy for the development of technopark activities in Uzbekistan will be developed based on Korea's experience. The project also aims to apply Korea’s science and technology policy development model and expertise to local technoparks.
Currently, a delegation composed of representatives from the Agency for Innovative Development is on a business trip to the Republic of Korea to enhance the qualifications of Uzbek specialists and study Korea’s experience in the field of technoparks.
The first day of the program was dedicated to strengthening innovation cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea, and to sharing valuable international experiences in developing technoparks and the startup ecosystem in Uzbekistan. Members of the delegation attended a series of expert lectures on Korea’s advanced science and technology policy, the history and development of technoparks, and the role of the Korea Technopark Association in the innovation ecosystem.
Among the speakers were internationally recognized Korean experts — Dr. Sung Chul Chung, Dr. Deok Soon Yim, and Dr. Hyun Young Youn.
At the end of the lectures, Q&A sessions and live discussions were held on topics such as: the opportunities and challenges of applying the Korean model in Uzbekistan’s economic and geographic context, effective mechanisms for establishing and financing technoparks, and the role of public-private partnerships in the development of innovation infrastructure.
In the coming days, the delegation plans to visit Korea’s leading technoparks, innovation centers, and research institutions located in Seoul, Cheongju, Sejong, Gyeongsan, and Pohang.
