Currently, Jonibek Tavakalov, Executive Director of the Fund for Financing Science and Supporting Innovation, is on a business trip to the state of Texas, USA. The main goal of the visit is to establish scientific internship opportunities for young Uzbek scientists at leading U.S. universities.
As a result of the discussions, a memorandum was signed between the Agency for Innovative Development , the Fund for Financing Science and Supporting Innovation, and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) — one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Texas — to organize scientific internships for young scientists from Uzbekistan.
In addition, agreements were reached with Texas A&M University (TAM) and Rice University (RICE) to organize international scientific internship programs.
During the visit, the conditions and facilities available for interns were also studied.
For reference, UTD and RICE are globally recognized for their research in nanotechnology, physics, materials science, and engineering, ranking highly in the QS and Times Higher Education rankings. Texas A&M University is a global leader in research related to irrigation and agriculture.
These universities have modern infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, IT centers, and innovative classrooms designed for young scientists and students eager to pursue education and research.
