CIS Innovation Development Forum – A Platform for Strengthening Innovation Cooperation

The international event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratboy Sharipov; Director of the Agency for Innovation Development, Sharof Rajabov; Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Executive Committee, Denis Trefilov; Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rukhshona Nasriddinzoda; Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Mogilevsky; Chairman of the Management Board of “Qazinnovations” JSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sanat Zholdykhan; Deputy Director of the “Kyrgyz Patent” organization of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ulan Ismailbekov, as well as representatives of ministries and agencies in charge of science and innovation from CIS member states, vice-rectors for research and innovation of Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions, and deputy directors for science of research institutes.
The Forum addressed a wide range of issues, including the development of a regional innovation ecosystem, support for startups and small businesses as drivers of economic growth, cross-border cooperation in the field of technology, the development of artificial intelligence in CIS countries, and the implementation of digital transformation strategies across various sectors.
The Forum also featured the 35th extended meeting of the Interstate Council of the CIS member states on cooperation in the scientific, technical, and innovation fields. During the meeting, participants discussed effective mechanisms for implementing the CIS Innovation Cooperation Program through 2030.
Participants exchanged views on the development of scientific and technical potential, the transfer of advanced technologies, the implementation of joint scientific projects, support for startup initiatives, and the expansion of innovation infrastructure. Within the framework of the Interstate Program’s priority areas, concrete proposals were developed to enhance the regional innovation ecosystem, improve the efficiency of scientific research, and stimulate the commercialization of innovative products.
The Forum and the 35th extended meeting served as an important international platform aimed at strengthening scientific, technical, and innovation cooperation among CIS countries. The event also provided a venue for sharing experiences, making joint decisions, and further reinforcing innovation collaboration across the CIS region.
