Soil salinity and moisture movement in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Region are being studied using mathematical modelling methods and artificial intelligence technologies.
The research is being conducted by Acting Professor, PhD, Associate Professor Soxibjan Muminov of Ma’mun University at Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies as part of the Academic Mobility Programme (2026-1) competition organized by the Agency for Innovative Development.
The study focuses on identifying patterns in the movement of salts and moisture in the region’s soils, developing mathematical models to describe these processes, and exploring the potential for forecasting them using artificial intelligence technologies.
Based on the findings, the project aims to develop practical recommendations for scientifically grounded planning of measures to prevent and combat soil salinity, improve the efficient use of irrigation water, and enhance soil fertility.
Upon completion of the project, a mathematical model and relevant software tested under regional conditions are expected to be developed. The research findings are also planned to be published in international scientific journals.
