Representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Agency for Innovative Development, who are currently on a working visit to Germany, held a meeting with representatives of Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden).
The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation in developing joint research projects, establishing exchanges for young researchers, as well as putting scientific developments into practice.
During the meeting, Asror Norov, Head of the Department for the Organization of Scientific Research at the Agency for Innovative Development, put forward an initiative to develop a scientific cluster project involving the Agency, TU Dresden, as well as selected higher education and research organizations of Uzbekistan.
As an initial step, it was proposed to select two priority areas from water and the environment, sustainable infrastructure, artificial intelligence and microelectronics, and advanced materials, and to develop joint project concepts in these areas.
The meeting also addressed the organization of short-term research internships for young scientists, joint academic supervision, and laboratory visits. It was noted that such exchanges would provide Uzbek researchers with opportunities to gain experience in international scientific communities and acquire modern research methods.
At the end of the meeting, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to develop long-term cooperation. It was proposed to agree on the main areas of the cooperation memorandum, designate coordinators from both sides, and continue practical work on developing joint projects.
