Supporting young people begins with providing opportunities

Today, young people are more interested not in lofty statements about “supporting” them, but in concrete opportunities, practical pathways, and tangible results.
For a young person with an idea, the key questions are simple: How can it be turned into a product? How can that product be brought to market, transformed into an income-generating project, and even create new jobs?
These were the very issues discussed at a meeting held at Nukus State Technical University as part of the “Thursday — Youth Day” initiative.
S. Berdiyev, Head of the Department for Coordinating the Activities of Units for Startup Ecosystem and Regional Development at the Agency for Innovative Development, and T. Pulatbayev, Leading Specialist of the Agency’s Karakalpakstan Republic Unit, discussed with students the journey from developing an idea to turning it into a business.
During the discussion, young people were informed about available opportunities, particularly the InnoX programme implemented by the Agency at youth technoparks across the regions. Through the programme, young people can develop their ideas and acquire the necessary skills to turn them into a specific product or service.
The next stage is introducing the finished product into production and bringing it to the market. In this regard, startup competitions and financial support mechanisms represent important opportunities for young people.
There are also broad opportunities for young people engaged in scientific research. In particular, the “Academic Mobility” programme, financed through state funds, has been launched to support the development of scientific research and new experiences, along with competitions for international scientific internships that provide opportunities to learn from international experience and improve professional skills.
In other words, opportunities are available for young people today. The key is to find an opportunity that matches their ideas and goals, use it effectively, and turn it into a tangible result.
At the meeting, students became more familiar with these opportunities and had the chance to ask specialists questions of interest to them. The dialogue broadened their understanding of developing startup projects, making use of existing programmes, and turning their ideas into practical results.
