Currently, a scientific project is being implemented to study and digitize this heritage based on modern technologies.
The main goal of the project "Creating 3D models and animated images of Timurid artifacts stored in foreign museums," funded by the Agency for Innovative Development within the framework of the "Women Scientists" competition, is to create 3D models and animated images of 50 historical items from the Timurid era stored in museums in Russia, Great Britain, and Turkey.
An important aspect of the project is that the scattered Timurid heritage will be collected in a single digital and scientific information space.
- To date, high-quality photographic materials of 50 historical artifacts have been collected during field trips to museums in Russia, Great Britain, and Turkey. Digital 3D models of historical artifacts will be created based on these materials. Additionally, existing historical films will be animated and video products will be produced. A scientific description and annotation are provided for each item in the Uzbek language, says project manager Dilafruz Kurbanova.
The created 3D models serve as a modern digital resource for museums, educational institutions, researchers, and the general public. Additionally, the temurid.uz website of the State Museum of the History of the Timurids will be enriched with new scientific and visual content.
The increase in digital content creates additional opportunities to showcase museum heritage in a virtual environment, introduce a wider audience to historical artifacts, and increase interest in cultural tourism.
It is also planned to protect 3D models and animation products created as part of the project as intellectual property. In the future, it is expected that these digital products will serve to implement new innovative projects of scientific and cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and foreign museums.
