A seminar was held in the Syrdarya region dedicated to ensuring the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF–54 dated April 4, 2026, as well as to the development of science and innovation activities and the establishment of production based on new developments.

The event, organized at the Yangiyer branch of the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, brought together representatives of the Innovation Development Agency, university professors and lecturers, researchers, and entrepreneurs.

As emphasized during the seminar, in accordance with the decree, opportunities have now been created to establish “spin-off” companies under higher education and research institutions based on new developments. This represents an important step in introducing scientific research results into production, creating innovative products, and commercializing them.

During the event, experts provided detailed explanations on the legal framework for establishing “spin-off” companies, sources of financing, including opportunities for attracting venture investments, and mechanisms for effectively organizing their activities.

Particular attention was also paid to integrating scientific developments created in higher education institutions with production, commercializing innovative ideas, and implementing them in various sectors of the economy to generate added value.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants shared proposals and opinions on organizing the activities of “spin-off” companies. The need to further strengthen the close connection between science and industry was emphasized.

This seminar is of significant importance for the development of the regional innovation ecosystem, transforming scientific developments into economic results, and fostering a modern entrepreneurial environment.
