The seventh meeting of the Uzbekistan–China Intergovernmental Subcommission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held in China. Delegations led by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Oktam Salomov, and China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Chen Jiachang, discussed prospects for deepening scientific collaboration.
The dialogue resulted in an agreement to increase joint projects in priority areas such as artificial intelligence, digital technologies, agro-biotechnology, new materials, and green energy, alongside the joint development of scientific infrastructure. Furthermore, the parties defined specific tasks for establishing technology transfer and commercialization systems, creating joint funds and technoparks, and expanding exchange programs for young scientists.
As a continuation of these agreements, the eighth meeting of the subcommission is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in 2028.
