The Innovation Development Agency held a roundtable discussion on February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, on the topic “Women’s Voice in Science.” The event brought together scientists, young researchers, startup founders, female students, as well as heads of press services from various ministries and agencies.
During the open dialogue, participants discussed ways to actively involve women in scientific activities, effectively utilize existing grants and programs, focus research directions on pressing contemporary issues, and promote scientific developments and inventions created by women researchers.
Participants proposed measures to strengthen collaboration among women in science, expand platforms for experience sharing, analyze social factors hindering scientific activity, and address them. It was also emphasized that enhancing the international recognition of projects implemented by Uzbek scientists is essential.
At the conclusion of the event, the initiative to establish the “Olima” Club under the Innovation Development Agency was proposed. The club is expected to support women working in science and innovation, strengthen cooperation between researchers and young scientists, implement a mentorship system, disseminate best practices, and create favorable conditions for supporting innovative ideas and initiatives.
Experts note that the “Olima” Club will not only unite active women in science but also serve as an important platform to showcase women’s scientific potential in society.
