Integration of Higher Education and Industry: Prospective Areas of Cooperation with the Chinese Delegation Discussed

On February 6 of this year, an official meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation comprising representatives of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) and the renowned company CVTE.
The main objective of the meeting was to establish closer bilateral relations, integrate the higher education system with modern industrial demands, and discuss the implementation of innovative technologies.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to issues related to higher education and workforce development. Representatives of the Department of Higher Education Institutions and the International Cooperation Division discussed with Chinese partners opportunities to enhance qualifications in engineering and technology fields and align academic curricula with industry needs.
Issues of industrial development and investment attraction were also thoroughly discussed. Through the CCCME platform, prospects for attracting foreign investment into the machinery and electrical engineering sectors, as well as establishing direct cooperation between enterprises and higher education institutions, were analyzed.
In the field of innovation and technology transfer, specialists from the Innovation Development Agency and the National Technology Transfer Office discussed with CVTE representatives opportunities to implement new developments into production and carry out joint grant projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, CCCME Department Director Sheng Guofei and CVTE Vice President Lai Guangming highly praised Uzbekistan’s investment attractiveness and ongoing reforms in the education sector, expressing their readiness to expand mutual cooperation.
