Scientific Ideas Competition within the Framework of the “Future Scientist” Competition to Be Held in 2026 for the Support of Innovative Ideas of Talented Youth in the Republic of Karakalpakstan

“Future Scientist” Scientific Ideas Competition
The primary objective of the competition is to support innovative and scientific projects in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, create the necessary conditions for conducting scientific research, and broadly engage talented young people in science and research activities.
This competition is conducted in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Regulation on the Procedure for Organizing the “Future Scientist” Competition, approved by Annex 2 to Resolution No. 222 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 19 April 2021, “On Measures to Support Talented Young People Engaged in Scientific and Innovative Activities.”
Applications are now being accepted for the “Future Scientist” Scientific Ideas Competition, which will be held in 2026 to support the innovative ideas of talented young people in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Scientific Idea
A “Scientific Idea” is a project developed on the basis of the fundamental principles and priority provisions of various fields of science, representing one of the forms of reflecting reality through a scientific fact, problem, hypothesis, or theory, and emerging as a result of scientific progress and scientific discoveries.
Eligibility Requirements for Competition Participants
- Participants must be citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Regardless of academic degree, academic title, position, or place of employment, participants must not be older than 40 years of age;
- The author of the scientific idea must reside in the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
- Each participant may submit only one project.
Requirements for Scientific Ideas Submitted to the Competition
- The project must be developed on the basis of a scientific fact, problem, hypothesis, or theory and comply with the fundamental principles and priority provisions of relevant scientific disciplines;
- The scientific idea must be aimed at solving a specific societal or economic problem;
- The financial resources required for implementation must be clearly calculated and properly justified;
- Specific implementation mechanisms, timelines, and preliminary expected results must be provided;
- The maximum implementation period of the scientific idea must not exceed one year;
- Funds allocated to scientific ideas recognized as winners of the competition may not be used to pay monthly salaries or wages to the author or project executors;
- The amount of funding requested for implementation must not exceed 400 times the Basic Calculation Amount established by legislation;
- Using the funds allocated to winning scientific ideas, a model and/or prototype must be developed, and one sample unit must be placed in the exhibition hall (show-room) of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation;
- Submitted scientific ideas must strictly comply with the competition requirements, contain accurate and reliable information, be free from plagiarism, and be prepared in accordance with the established requirements.
Submission of Applications
Applications will be accepted from 5 June 2026 until 23:59 on 4 July 2026.
Applications must be completed using the prescribed document templates and submitted electronically through the “startup.ilmiy.uz” platform.
Applicants bear personal responsibility for the completeness and proper execution of the submitted documents in accordance with the requirements of the “Future Scientist” Competition, the accuracy and reliability of the information provided, and the full, timely, and high-quality achievement of the expected results specified within the objectives of the competition programmes.
