In connection with the national holiday "Nawruz", the symbol of the spring season, which has entered our country, according to tradition, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov, and the field officials visited veterans and elders who served in the Second World War.
Our country has a tradition of respecting elderlies and veterans on various holidays and celebrations. Our peaceful, comfortable and prosperous lives today are the result of their hard work and unwavering commitment.
For these noble purposes, the Minister of Internal Affairs Lieutenant-General Pulat Bobojonov and the officials of the sector visited the homes of veterans, elderlies, and participants of the Second World War and behind the front lines who are living in our capital, and congratulated with the Nawruz holiday. By distributing festive gifts, officials contributed to the joy of the seniors.
Margarita Filanovich, a resident of Mingurik mahalla of Mirabad district, turned 87. Margarita was a young girl during the Siege of Leningrad in the Second World War. War has imprinted her soul with terrible memories. Her life experience is still an excellent example for young people. Filanovich authorises more than 200 publications, including about 20 monographs. In addition, she is the deputy editor of the "History of Uzbekistan" magazine and a member of the coordinating council for dissertations under the Higher Attestation Commission.
Another one of our honorees will be Kireeva Lyubov Semyonovna, a resident of Muhandislar mahalla in the Yakkasaray district. This woman, who spent her teenage years in a Nazi concentration camp, is happy to live in a peaceful country today. The life path of Lyubov Semyonovna, who is retiring after 46 years of work, is a true example of determination and perseverance.
The officials also visited the elderly veteran Smolich Yuriy Georgievich, who lives in this mahalla, and had a conversation with the enlightened patriarch. Our hero, who spent most of his life with the Uzbek people, expressed his warm thoughts about our current prosperous life and beautiful spring celebrations.
Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs also visited the house of Askar Juraev, who lives in Shaikhontohur district of our capital. Askar Juraev, a true man of courage and strength, fought hard for the freedom of his homeland during the dark years of the Second World War.
During the meeting with the elderly veterans, the officials also reviewed their living conditions, health and problems. In the spring holiday, respect was shown to the representatives of the older generation.
Good deeds are performed during Nawruz for a reason. It is the time of year when eyes sparkle with joy, hearts beat with hope, and dreams are filled with desires. Every home in our country is filled with the joy of the holiday season.
