On June 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Coordination and Monitoring Center of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The center was established within the framework of the strategy for the development of the public safety system in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The complex has been fully renovated, equipped with modern equipment, and has been operational since March.
The center is a single information space that covers all aspects of public safety. Digital technology is used to analyze the situation at work and the activities of the employees. Specifically, the activities of over 10,000 preventive inspectors are monitored and evaluated in six different directions.
It includes programs such as "e-public safety" and "e-social situation," unified information systems for traffic safety, crime prevention, and public order maintenance, and the integration of more than 6,000 "smart" surveillance cameras. Additionally, the center provides remote training for prevention inspectors, road patrol officers, post patrol officers, and probation officers through video communication. Modelling public events provides an opportunity to learn how to make proper decisions in non-standard circumstances and take quick actions.
A special emphasis was placed on this issue by the head of our state and it was emphasized that the employees of the sector should be familiar with the latest technologies.
Artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role in a wide range of fields today. Aside from programs that provide convenience to people, cybercrime and fraud methods are also on the rise. Internal affairs officers must be advanced and intelligent in order to prevent, identify, and uncover such crimes.
Therefore, rectors of higher education institutions under law enforcement agencies were invited to participate in the meeting at the center. In this regard, it was emphasized that it was necessary to improve their educational programs, to introduce a dual education system, and to ensure that lessons and scientific research are compatible with everyday life.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs was tasked with creating a system for the use of unmanned devices. In addition, additional tasks were assigned to strengthen crime prevention and ensure the safety of public events.
According to the public security strategy approved on November 29, 2021, by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is intended to digitalize 90% of the system by the end of 2025. This was discussed with the head of our state during the visit.
Three stages are involved in this process.
The first stage involved studying the problems, and the second stage involved developing specialists and programs. In particular, 66 modules and information systems were developed. A total of 77 information systems from ministries and agencies, as well as 25 information systems from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, were integrated into them. Over 18,000 tablets were provided to employees of public security units, and they were trained in the effective use of such devices.
As a result, 155 reports, 37 administrative areas, about one hundred records, and collective materials were digitized, saving 213 billion UZS.
Currently, the third stage focuses on the establishment of a Data Processing Center, the extensive use of artificial intelligence in the field, and the localization of equipment.
There was a demonstration of the latest equipment and tools used in the internal affairs system.
