On March 5 of this year, the 10th meeting of the Joint Uzbek-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Tashkent.
The electronic public procurement system of Georgia is one of the most effective, developed on the basis of the established requirements of the European Union for public procurement. This system has become a model for countries striving for reforms in the field of public procurement.
As a result of the implementation of the electronic procurement system in Georgia, the development of free and fair competition has been achieved, as well as a significant reduction in the risk of corruption.
In recent years, within the framework of the reforms being carried out in our country, the legislative framework regulating the sphere of public procurement has been improved. At the same time, an electronic public procurement system has been implemented, which ensures the transparency of public procurement and allows free access to information about them.
Reforming the industry based on advanced foreign experience and strengthening ties with international partners in this area is one of the urgent tasks.
In this regard, within the framework of the event, the Treasury Service Committee signed a memorandum with the State Procurement Agency of Georgia aimed at developing cooperation in the field of public procurement.
This memorandum provides for the improvement of electronic public procurement systems, the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence tools in the field, the centralized implementation of public procurement, and the exchange of experience in the development of a "green" public procurement support system.
Georgia's successful experience and modern mechanisms in the field of public procurement contribute to the further improvement of the public procurement system in Uzbekistan.
