The Treasury Service Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Treasury of Russia signed a memorandum on technical cooperation.

On December 9, 2024, the Treasury Service Committee held a meeting with a delegation of the Federal Treasury of Russia, headed by Deputy Head of the Federal Treasury Alexander Albychev.
The Russian delegation also included the Head of the Department for Supervision of Audit Activities Lyudmila Muromtseva and the Head of the Department - Chief Accountant of the Budget Accounting and Reporting Department Anna Krivenets.
The Uzbek side was represented at the meeting by the Chairman of the Treasury Service Committee Murodbek Atajanov and other responsible employees.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Technical Cooperation was signed between the Treasury of Russia and the Treasury Service Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Memorandum provides for interaction between the specified departments and their territorial bodies on the following issues:
— organization and functioning of treasury bodies;
— budget accounting and reporting;
— budget servicing methodology;
— public procurement;
— financial forecasting and cash management;
— application of information technologies;
— control and evaluation of budget execution and internal audit;
— implementation of external control over the activities of audit organizations;
— monitoring and control in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
For reference: In 2023, a Cooperation Program was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Treasury Service Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Treasury of the Russian Federation for 2024-2026.
Particular attention was also paid to discussing digital projects and budget accounting of the Federal Treasury.
Following the meeting, the participants of the event noted that the signing of the Memorandum is an important step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
