On September 2, 2025, an open court hearing was held at the Fergana District Criminal Court. The court considered a submission from the Fergana District Internal Affairs Department regarding the early conditional release of convict M.N. from a sentence of restriction of liberty.
According to the case materials, M.N. was sentenced on September 22, 2022, under Article 104, Part 2, Paragraph “l” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan to 5 years of restriction of liberty. He had already served more than half of his sentence – over 2 years and 10 months.
Based on information provided by the probation service, the convict complied with regulations during the sentence, demonstrated an honest attitude towards work, and actively participated in community service. At the hearing, M.N. also expressed sincere remorse for his actions, stated that he would not commit further crimes, and was ready to take an active role in social life.
After reviewing the case materials and the prosecutor’s opinion, the court decided to grant the petition. According to the ruling, M.N. was conditionally released early from his sentence of restriction of liberty. At the same time, he was warned that if he intentionally committed a new crime during the remaining term, punishment would be imposed in accordance with Article 60 of the Criminal Code.
This decision marks another important step in ensuring the rule of law in Fergana District, supporting the rehabilitation of convicts, and facilitating their reintegration into society.
