2025-05-09 09:30:00 / Statements and speeches of administration

Assalamu alaikum, Honorable veterans! Honored guests!
First of all, I would like to sincerely congratulate all of you, and of course, our honorable luminaries who participated in World War II for the freedom of the Motherland and the peace of our country, who showed selflessness on the post-war labor front, on the Day of Memory and Honor and the 79th anniversary of the victory in World War II, on behalf of the activists of our district and myself.
Today, first of all, we remember those dear people who made an incomparable contribution to the Great Victory and who did not reach these bright days, we bow to their memory and pure souls. We express our highest respect, honor, and deep gratitude to all our veterans who showed courage and bravery in the brutal war and on the difficult labor front.
Dear guests of the event!
About two million citizens of Uzbekistan participated in this most terrible war in the history of mankind. More than half a million of them died, about 133 thousand went missing. More than 60 thousand of our compatriots returned from the war disabled.
We remember these numbers again and again every year on May 9 - Victory Day. These are not just ordinary numbers. They contain the boundless sorrow and longing in the hearts of our brave mothers, aunts, brave and courageous fathers, and our entire people.
We would not be mistaken if we said that these pains and sorrows cannot be expressed in any numbers or words. After all, more than 500 thousand victims mean more than 500 thousand tragedies. This means thousands and thousands of women who lost their spouses, millions of orphaned children who lost their parents. This is a terrible wound, an endless cry and a dream that has not healed and will never heal, even after so many years.
Remembering the sacred memory of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for today's peaceful and prosperous days, demonstrating an example of unyielding will and courage in the difficult struggle against the invaders and evil forces in protecting the dignity, honor, national traditions and customs of our people, and continuing their noble deeds is an eternal value inherent in our tolerant people who live in the belief that we need peace and security.
Dear participants of the event!
Today's turbulent and dangerous life itself requires the peoples of the whole world to draw conclusions and lessons from the bloody tragedies of the Second World War. The struggle for peace on earth, the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the countries of the world are more urgent than ever. In particular, preserving our invaluable wealth - peace and stability, interethnic and interreligious harmony and concord, and further strengthening our independence will always be our main task. Taking into account the unstable situation in the world and in our region, we must always be vigilant and sensitive, and educate our youth in the spirit of patriotism and courage.
In the effective fulfillment of such extremely important tasks, the courage and glorious traditions of our great ancestors, our respected veterans, will undoubtedly always serve as a model for us.
Dear and respected veterans!
Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my deep gratitude to you once again for our peaceful and free life, our clear sky today.
I wish you all good health, happiness, and blessings to your families.
I ask the Creator to always bless our lives and be the pride of our people and country.
Stay happy always!
Happy Victory Day to all of us!
Thank you for your attention!
