During this year’s cotton harvesting season, cotton growers in Fergana Region harvested 371,500 tons of cotton, fulfilling the contractual target for growing and delivering raw cotton.
This achievement reflects the practical results of ongoing reforms aimed at developing agriculture, introducing modern agrotechnologies, mechanizing production processes, and making effective use of scientific advances.
This year, cotton was cultivated across 72,000 hectares in the region. Seeds of foreign varieties were planted on 62,000 hectares, accounting for 86 percent of the total area.
Throughout the season, particular attention was paid to carrying out agricultural activities on time and to a high standard, applying scientific approaches to cotton cultivation, irrigation, mineral fertilization, and ensuring the crop reached maturity.
The effective use of modern machinery played an important role in achieving strong results in cotton production. In particular, an additional 135 cotton harvesters were purchased from China’s “Swan” company this year, bringing the total number of harvesting machines in the region to 285.
Modern machinery was used to harvest 230,000 tons of cotton. This helped shorten the harvesting period, increase labor productivity, and reduce field losses.
Congratulations to Fergana’s cotton growers on this achievement! May continued success and abundant harvests always be with you!
